AMG preserve O2 Institute Birmingham's historic cupola

Some buildings are more than landmarks; they are living chapters in a city's history. The O2 Institute Birmingham is one such building.
Originally constructed as a Methodist church, the building later served as a mission centre and Sunday school before evolving into the iconic live music venue it is today.
Alongside its current use, the building retains several notable architectural features, including its cupola, a distinctive dome-like structure on the roof, a wraparound balcony, and decorative faience figures playing musical instruments on the front façade.

Academy Music Group (AMG) has recently completed remedial works to the cupola, working in partnership with Stone Technical Services Group and JBH Developments.
The project was delivered using a bespoke scaffolding solution and focused on preserving the historic character of this landmark.
Tim Lynas, Academy Music Group’s Property Manager, commented: ‘It was a pleasure to work with JHB Developments and Stone Technical Services on this project, helping to protect the building for future generations of music fans, and I would like to extend my thanks to everyone involved in delivering this scheme."
