Along with the darker evenings and chillier temperatures, autumn also comes with some unique sounds. The crunch of leaves under your feet, the roaring of the fire in your favourite pub and the satisfied noise you make when you put your slippers on and get cosy under a blanket whilst the rain hits the windows.

There are also some artists who are perfect for your autumn days, whose voices make a pleasant soundtrack for the lead-up to Christmas and fortunately for you, we've not only put them in a playlist, but they're all also going on tour very soon. Take a look below to see who's visiting your city in the coming months.

Freya Ridings

We first put the spotlight on Freya in August, when the world had fallen head over heels for her after a number of her songs ended up on Love Island. Her rich and haunting vocal tone has an emotion in it that’s hard to find elsewhere and her piano-led ballads, such as ‘Lost Without You’ and ‘Ultraviolet’ are the perfect accompaniment for a rainy autumn day.

Dermot Kennedy

Irish singer, Dermot Kennedy has barely been home since the start of 2018, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Since the release of his debut EP, Doves And Ravens last year he’s become a force to be reckoned with. Taking hip hop influences and colliding them with deeply emotional ballads, Dermot has crafted a sound that not many can master, but with his growling voice and admiration for poetry and art, he’s created something that so many can relate to. His summer was crammed full with international festival performances and his headline shows are selling out months in advance, so if you aren’t yet familiar with him, it’s about time you changed that.

For someone who released their debut EP in 2016, Billy Lockett already has a substantial list of achievements. He’s supported both Lana Del Ray and Birdy live, as well as recently joining Electric Light Orchestra on the road, and all of his previous headline shows in the capital have sold out in advance. Then again, with a voice as soft as butter and words that are poignant and personal, it’s easy to see why everyone is desperate to experience Billy live. Incorporating electronic elements with traditional piano melodies, his songs soothe your soul and with a debut album in the works, things are only going to get sweeter for the Northamptonshire songwriter.

Noah Kahan

American folk-pop artist, Noah Kahan first started weaving his way into our hearts last year, with the exuberant singles, ‘Fine’ and ‘Hallelujah. Following tours with Ben Folds and George Ezra in the states, it wasn’t long before he brought his cheery, yet nostalgic catalogue of songs overseas. The past 12 months has seen Noah travelling across all corners of the globe, teaming up with Grammy-nominated singer Julia Michaels for ‘Hurt Somebody’ and sharing his love for music with anyone who sees him play. So if you need a pick-me-up from the dreary autumn weather, then Noah Kahan is a great place to start.

Matt Corby

As it gets colder, you might be wishing for a warmer climate and to feel sand between your toes. But, if like most of us you can’t afford a holiday in the sun right now, listening to Matt Corby is a good second option. The Australian folk artist has been plucking away on our heartstrings since the release of ‘Brother’ in 2012, but overtime has pushed boundaries, experimented with his sound and found inspiration in fatherhood. His second album, Rainbow Valley is awash with psychedelic sparks and joyful moments that you can get completely lost in and before it’s even released, he’s managed to sell out his upcoming headline London show, so it must be good.

Jade Bird

What happens when you cross the vintage sound of Nashville with the feisty attitude of a 21 year-old? Jade Bird is the answer. Heavily influenced by the likes of Patti Smith, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan, she incorporates 70s rock and roll tendencies with a twist of Americana and the outcome so far has been a whirlwind of lovestruck songs with a bitter taste. Despite America adopting her for much of the summer, the BBC Sound of 2018 nominee will be back on home turf very soon to continue captivating audiences and showing just how much of a badass she really is.
