New Music Blog: Rejjie Snow

Posted: Friday 17 November 2017

With so many huge acts in and out of our doors, it’s easy to forget those that are out there, tirelessly working their way up to the top who deserve your attention. This week, we’re putting the spotlight on rap newcomer Rejjie Snow.

Growing up in Ireland, rapper and producer Rejjie Snow initially wasn’t destined for a career in music and transferred to a school in Florida on an athletics scholarship, thanks to his talents in football. Nothing could stop the draw of music, though and at age 17 he moved back home to put all of his focus into writing and recording his debut EP Rejovich.

Dropping in 2013, the EP went straight to the top of the iTunes hip-hop chart, knocking off Kanye while he was at it. From there, things only got better. Spending time honing his craft, networking and building his reputation, it wasn’t long before he signed to the legendary label 300 Entertainment, largely due to the success of single ‘All Around The World’.

More singles followed, with the likes of ‘Blakkst Skn’ and ‘D.R.U.G.S’ racking up millions of views on YouTube alone. With more music, came more tour offers. Support Madonna in Prague? Sure. Tour with Kendrick Lamar? Absolutely. Add that to the list of sold out headline shows and you could say things were working out pretty well for Snow.

In 2016 he revealed that he was close to finishing his debut album Dear Annie, his magnum opus. Though we’re still waiting for the fiercely anticipated record to drop, Rejjie hasn’t left his fans in the quiet, releasing 13-track mixtape The Moon & You earlier this year.

With the possibility of Dear Annie dropping any day now, the buzz around the rapper is growing by the minute and with his biggest headline UK tour to date happening in the spring, it looks like the next 12 months are going to be career-defining for the rap star.
