The 1,200 capacity O2 Academy Liverpool has established itself as a major player on the UK touring circuit, attracting a vibrant mix of live music and club events, from rock legends, indie all-stars, cutting edge dance and urban acts, to showcasing the rising talent of the future in in O2 Academy2.
Formerly the Lomax site, this 19th century warehouse building at 11-13 Hotham Street, is steeped in musical history. Production complete with top class facilities for both club events and live music, AMG has made the greatest efforts to ensure that its venue is a favourite with artists and audiences alike.
In September 2003, the storming launch night with local heroes Shack, triggered a taste of things to come and a spectacular diary of events followed. O2 Academy2 Liverpool continues to support new underground music and gives local bands inspired by Liverpool’s fantastically vibrant music scene the chance to showcase their talent in a beautifully equipped secondary 500 capacity space.

We operate our own guest list and box office from the venue entrance and provide staffing for this from 30 minutes before doors. We will happily deal with all your guest lists from our box office.
The Venue occasionally operates a strict 10pm curfew with a club turnaround, please check this during the advance as on these occasions the house racks and stacks must be used and touring lighting kept to a floor package.
There is a purpose built booth in the main entrance foyer, the venue charges a facility fee of 12p/head + VAT to sell merchandise. This does not include a vendor, though with notice this can be arranged.
Security is provided by Showsec International Ltd. and booked through the Venue, please contact the general manager for details, or to discuss any specific security requirements.
Local crew is provided by ShowForce and booked through the venue - costs are available on request. Additional charges may apply for crew calls starting between midnight & 6am. Please contact the technical manager to book.
There are 3 dressing rooms, 1 production / promoter’s office, 2 showers and 1 toilet backstage on the ground floor.
The venue has a washing machine & dryer available to touring productions.
Touring catering for Academy 1 events can be set up under the balcony but must be cleared by 6.30pm for doors or if there is no show in Academy 2 then this area can be used until curfew. Any touring catering company wishing to use the venues facilities must fill out and return the ‘Visiting Caterers Agreement form available from the technical manager.

Included with the hire of the venue and fixed at a distance of 1.2m is a Mojo-style ‘blow through’ front of stage pit barrier, for audience safety we insist this be used on all standing format shows. The FOH position is also protected with Mojo at the front of the position and at the sides and back by a purpose built barrier.
A parking map can be found HERE. There is a small carpark to the rear of our the venue that can fit up to 4 splitters. The fee to use this facility is: splitters/vans/people carriers £10, cars £5. The roads around the venue are pay and display so to park busses or trucks the venue has to arrange dispensation through the local council. In order to do this use of these bays must be arranged via the venue with a minimum of 5 working days notice and we will require the vehicle REG, LENGTH, MAKE & MODEL to book. Parking is currently charged at £22 per parking bay. A parking bay is classed as 5 meter intervals and can only be booked in 5 meter
sections. The council also charge £25 admin fee per application (approx. £113 per bus / artic truck). There are 3 x 16/1 ceeforms available for bus power.
Load-in is located at street level through a large barn door, a short push through double doors to the lift (1.5m x 2.1m x 3.1m Max load = 1125Kg) up 2 floors then via ramp to stage. There is a fair amount of storage for empty cases, but any extras will need to go back on the truck / trailer.

O2 Academy Liverpool and Arts Club are available to hire privately. As well as being versatile entertainment spaces, the venues can be used for corporate events, exhibitions or private parties. They are regularly used by artists as rehearsal spaces ahead of tours or festival performances and both O2 Academy Liverpool and Arts Club can be used as locations for filming shoots.
Both venues hold prime locations within the city, close to major transport hubs and are easily accessed by car.
